This safe, non-invasive, non-surgical treatment enables us to treat precisely targeted spinal segments to take pressure off the disc and nerves and progressively improve function.
If you have been in pain, not responded to the standard treatment offerings we are here to help you.
Suitable Conditions
If you have a disc problem or are concerned about your back or neck and what to do next, you may be a candidate for our IDD Therapy programme.
Using the Accu-SPINA IDD Therapy system, our team take you through a series of treatments which are computer-controlled and focussed to your needs.
Whether it’s L5S1 or L4L5 in your lower back, or C5C6 in the neck or a different level, we work to improve your spinal function and get you out of pain.
Patients remain fully clothed throughout and the computer-controlled treatment is comfortable, with many falling asleep during treatment.
*Note* Patients must have and up to date MRI Scan (Under a year) for the IDD treatment
Clinic Director Cheryll Walsh says:
“Osteopaths are experts in treating a range of conditions, especially back pain. Most of the time hands on treatment, exercise and advice are enough to get people moving again, but sometimes we need to do more. IDD Therapy helps us do more for patients with pain and dysfunction, without the need to resort to invasive treatments and reliance on medications.”

FAQ's
Does IDD Therapy work?
IDD Therapy has excellent success rates. It was developed in the late 1990s and there is a global network of providers, including in the UK. We use established research tools to track your progress and adjust treatment through the programme of care. There may be times when IDD Therapy may not be suitable or potentially effective, but we expect to see improvement within the programme and beyond. We will guide you as you progress and advise to carefully manage expectations.
Is treatment painful?
No. The aim of treatment is for your to be completely relaxed. You remain fully clothed and whilst the treatment is strong, many patients fall asleep.
Is there a programme of treatment?
There is no magic bullet for conditions that have built up over time. Our goal is to gently and progressively improve function in your spine. Rather like exercise, you have a series of sessions which stimulate the body to adapt. Patients do not respond at the same rate, some may see improvement quickly, others can take longer.
Are there age restrictions?
Patients need to be aged 18 or over, there is no upper age limit.
I have had an injection, can I have IDD Therapy?
Yes. We allow two weeks from the injection for it to settle.
I have had spinal surgery, can I have IDD Therapy?
Yes. The conditions are that there is no metal hardware in your spine and we allow six months from surgery.
